Grand opening celebrations are planned this week for several small businesses located across downtown. Vicinia Barbershop, located in the Manhattan Building on E. Third Street, will hold a ribbon-cutting at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3. Vicinia’s owner, Rylan Williams, says he wants his shop to become part of the community for those who live and work downtown while connecting them with neighboring shops and restaurants. A ribbon-cutting is also planned at 3 p.m. on First Friday, May 6, for The Bridal House on E. Fifth Street in the Oregon District. Owner of The Bridal House, Amina Chakhalidze, says the shop specializes in bridal gowns and accessories and offers in-house alterations. The owners of Four Acres Photography, Didi and Travis Williamson, will hold a ribbon-cutting for their new studio space, The Remedy Studios & Events, in the Firefly Building on Webster Street at 4 p.m. The Remedy is a natural light studio and event space that can be rented by the hour, half-day, or full-day. Four Acres Photography will also offer in-house photography in the Remedy studios. Also on Friday, May 6, from 3 to 8 p.m., Gem City Laser, located in the Bindery Building on N.
