The Square Is Where Welcomes Downtown Lunch Crowds with Kickoff Party

Free lunchtime entertainment returns downtown this week with The Square Is Where. The Square Is Where runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every weekday through September on Courthouse Square, located at 23 N. Main Street. Downtown residents and office workers are invited to pick up lunch or have food delivered to Courthouse Square to enjoy ample outdoor seating and free entertainment. Daily entertainment begins with Music Mondays on May 2, Trivia Tuesdays on Tuesday, May 3, and Big Game Wednesday on Wednesday, May 4. No programming will be scheduled during the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 5. An official The Square Is Where kickoff party is planned for this Friday, May 6. During Friday’s kickoff, enjoy a Derby themed photo-booth and free, non-alcoholic Derby themed cocktails, live music from Lavender Honey, a Downtown Dollars giveaway while supplies last, games, food trucks, and more. The site also features a downtown lunch map and the Lunch-O-Matic to find downtown restaurants open during lunch hours for meals, drinks, and treats.
