Downtown Summer Camps
We’ve compiled a list of summer camps offered in or near downtown Dayton for 2025. See each venue’s website or other links for more information or to sign up for a camp.
Black Box Improv Kidprov
Since reopening in October 2021, we have had over 200 adult students take to our stage learning the art of long-form improv. We kept hearing “Do you offer classes for kids?” and “My kid would love this!” and we heard you!
We are excited to announce a five-day experience over the summer for kids (ages 9-12 & 13-17) to try their hand at improv right in their backyard. Each student will play their hearts out learning the power of listening, character building, and something in the improv world known as “yes, and,” all while making new friendships along the way. Not to mention, they’ll be looking stylish in their Black Box Improv Summer Camp T-Shirt.
To close out the week of learning, we will be throwing a Summer Camp Showcase where friends and family can come experience all the fun of a live show performed by the students themselves!

Boonshoft Museum of Discovery
Summer Stem Camps at the Boonshoft Museum offer interactive learning experiences across many topics of areas of the museum. Programming runs from Summer camps run from June 2nd – August 1st and for all ages 5-14.

1 week at Sun Watch:
This year we are excited to offer one week of camp at SunWatch in addition to our regularly schedules science experiential learning opportunities. Campers will have the oppurtunity to learn about Sun watch Indian Village/Archaeological Park in it’s modern, historic, and pre-contacts contexts. Camp will run from July 21st- July 25th. Carillon Historical Park
Held throughout July, Settler Survival Camp at Carillon Historical Park is five days of early settlement fun. The Miami Valley comes to life from an early settler’s perspective during this exciting camp. Learn about early travel methods, hearth-cooking, woodworking, textiles, gardening, candle-dipping, and more.

Dayton Art Institute
Introduce your children to the world of art through Summer Art Camps at the DAI. Campers explore the museum with fun gallery games, new interdisciplinary art lessons, creative art projects and more. These half-day or week-long camps, taking place during June, July and August, are tailored to a variety of age groups and feature many different art activities.
Children will learn and get inspired by the museum’s collection and create their own masterpieces using 2D and 3D art-making techniques in our studios. Kids entering 1st grade through 9th grade will have fun all summer long in weekly, mixed-media art camps.

Dayton Kroc Center
Camp Kroc is a ministry of the Dayton Kroc Center. At the heart of the Camp Kroc philosophy is our focus on building authentic relationships with caring adults and other children, but most importantly, with Jesus. We call it a child-centered program; the campers call it the best summer ever!

Calling all dancers! Here is your chance to participate in a weeklong dance camp that is taught by the dance professionals of the Dayton Dance Initiative (DDI). From ballet to improvisation, each day will feature a different discipline as DDI artists will guide you to find expression and joy through movement! K12 Gallery & TEJAS
K12 Gallery & TEJAS offers an exciting variety of summer art camps and classes! We have something for all ages, including adults!
Child and Youth Camps must be registered by the preceding Friday at noon. We will be closed June 30-July 4, so Week 5 (July 7-11) must be registered by June 27.
Youth & Adult One-Day classes may be registered until the day of.

Registration:
Classes are capped at 10-20 students per class. It is recommended that you register via our website or by phone several weeks prior to the camp start date. Once the classes are full, we will remove the ability to register for them on our website.
Classes are subject to consolidation based on enrollment. Classes may differ from description due to availability of materials.
Cancellations:
Prior to 14 days before camp, registration fee will be refunded less a $50 processing fee. Less than 14 days before camp, registration is non-refundable.

Learning Tree Farm
Learning Tree Farm is offering Summer Day Camps from July 7th- July 17th, 9am-3pm. No matter the age of your camper, there will be fun activities for all!
Farm Camp is a fully outdoor program designed to provide an immersive and active experience in nature, and around our farm animals.
Our Mini Farmers, ages 5-8, will have camp for 2 days (Mon&Tues) to work hard and play hard. This program is for younger campers learning how to have fun outdoors. Mini’s will run July 7th & 8th and July 14th & 15th
Our Junior Farmers, ages 7 -12, will have camp for 4 days (Mon-Thurs) learning all about farm operations, animal husbandry, and outdoor recreation, like fishing skills, how to build a campfire, and recreational hiking. This program is for older curious campers wanting to dig deep into the world of outdoor recreation as a farmer and beyond. First week of Junior Farm Camp July 7-10, 2025. Second week of Junior Farm Camp July 14-17, 2025.
Outdoor Activities
- Hiking: Camp activities include age-appropriate hiking on uneven trails. Is your camper able to and excited to participate in this activity?
- All-Weather Outdoor Time: Campers will spend the entire day outdoors in all types of weather, including sun, rain, heat, and cold. Is your camper able to and willing to participate in these conditions?
- Farm Animals: Campers are expected to help with farm chores and be around farm equipment. Does your camper enjoy being around animals? Is your camper willing to participate in daily farm chores?
Levitt Pavilion Dayton
Applications for the Signature Levitt Music & Arts Summer Day Camp open February 17! This one-of-a-kind camp is where creativity flourishes, confidence grows, and friendships are made—all through the power of music and the arts. Let a young artist in your life know about this chance to explore their talents in a fun, supportive environment.
Camp Dates: July 14-19, 2025
Who can apply?: Any teen between the ages of 14-19 (9th-12th grades) with an interest in music, poetry, or songwriting.
Signature Levitt Summer Camp Program is for all teens, ages 14 – 19 years old in the Dayton area who want to learn, perform, and work in the fields of music and /or creative arts. This one-week experience will give every camper the freedom to select their own summer camp activities track. We embrace your love for performance arts and as an innovative response to the pandemic Signature Educational Solutions and Home of Urban Creative Arts teamed up with Levitt Pavilion Dayton to lift the voices, and strengthen the individual and collective skill-set of aspiring youth in our community.
Due to the success of last year’s camp, we are able to provide FULL SCHOLARSHIP funding for each selected participant. We are encouraging everyone to get your application in as soon as possible, spaces are limited.

NCCJ Greater Dayton
Anytown Youth Leadership Institute
Summer 2025 Date: June 22-27, 2025 at University of Dayton
Anytown Youth Leadership Institute is our Annual Summer program taking place over the span of one week. During the week, delegates (participants) from across the Miami Valley come together to engage in conversation and education about diversity, equity, and inclusion. At our institute, delegates spend time extensively participating in activities surrounding specific DEI issues. Delegates engage in activities around race, gender, ability/disability, class, allyship, and more.
Anytown is an experiential program – we learn by doing.
All Anytown staff members and volunteers are FBI/BCI background checked and trained to facilitate meaningful dialogue and experiences with the delegates. A majority of Anytown counselors are alumni of the program who are at least a year out of high school.
Police and Youth Together!
SUMMER DATES WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON
Police and Youth Together (PAYT) is a free week-long day camp for students ages 10 to 13. PAYT is offered in collaboration with local area law enforcement agencies from across the Miami Valley. PAYT builds bridges between police and youth as well as their families, teaching respect and encouraging an appreciation of diversity. During PAYT, youth learn valuable leadership skills, such as how to accept differences, and to disagree respectfully. In addition to fostering a collaborative learning environment, PAYT also promotes relationship development between officers and youth through outdoor games, art projects, and crafts.
Sinclair Community College Air Camp

Join us in Dayton, Ohio, the birth place of aviation and Air Camp’s home base, where our veteran flight leaders and educators immerse girls in hands-on, thrilling learning modules designed to build confidence and teach ambitious young women that even the SKY is NOT the limit.
The cost of this 6 day, 5 night camp is $1750 including meals, transportation and lodging at the University of Dayton.
Students Entering Grades 4-6:
We will continue to offer exciting opportunities for students at the intermediate level to explore the history and evolution of aviation as they experience the principles that made it possible for controlled flight to be achieved. Such programs are scheduled to include events at key STEM locations throughout the Dayton Region.
2-Day Camp: June 16-17 and July 7-8, 2025

Students Entering Grades 7-9:
We offer events spanning up to 6 days for participants to investigate and apply the physics of flight while engaged in immersive learning modules at a variety of remarkable STEM locations related to the key components of aviation and aeronautics. Students will be hosted at a college or university within the Greater Dayton Area for overnight camps.

Students Entering Grades 10-12:
We offer events spanning up to 4-days for participants to take a deeper dive into the physics of flight, while engaging in hands-on learning modules at diverse STEM locations. Additionally, students will critically explore accessible and lucrative STEM education and career opportunities in the aviation and aeronautics fields. Students will be hosted at a college or university within the Greater Dayton Area for overnight events.

Sinclair College WiSTEM
The Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (WiSTEM) Institute is an amazing opportunity to learn about STEM fields. WiSTEM is open to students who are entering grades 10, 11, and 12. Each day you will participate in “hands-on” lab sessions in which you will build, experiment, and discover more about each of these exciting fields.

University of Dayton SEE-UD: Summer Engineering Experiences at UD
Age: Rising high school juniors and seniors
Cost: $100 per day. Discounts available for multiple days.

Time: 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Lunch is included.
The School of Engineering invites rising high school juniors (class of 2027) and seniors (class of 2026) to our Summer Engineering Experiences!
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about a specific engineering discipline from our faculty and using this knowledge to develop solutions for challenges our world faces today. Through engagement with current School of Engineering students and immersive, hands-on activities in our labs, participants will adopt new perspectives and skills used by engineers each day.
Limited financial assistance is available for eligible students. If you or your child would like to learn more about financial assistance, please email engineeringcamps@udayton.edu.
Each day will cater to one or two specific engineering disciplines. Participants may attend multiple days if interested. Both camps on each individual day occur simultaneously. Students will not be able to attend more than 1 camp per day.

Join the YMCA of Greater Dayton for weekly opportunities from June-August 2025 for a fun-filled summer for your child (session dates vary by location)! Whether you choose one week, a few weeks, or all summer, YMCA Summer Day Camp offers a flexible schedule and provides fun and enriching activities for your child.
YMCA Summer Day Camp provides positive outcomes through play with an emphasis on social emotional growth. Our quality staff will guide them through outdoor activities, swimming, sports, arts & crafts, games, STEM activities, field trips, and summer adventures. We know how important it is to get kids back out to nature and interacting with their friends.
