Downtown Dayton is now home to two more small businesses! Each of the Black- and women-owned businesses plans to hold a ribbon cutting and grand opening later this month. First, Chairapy, 605 E. Fifth St., will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m. this Friday, July 5. Additional grand opening festivities are planned for Chairapy from 2 until 5 p.m. the following day, Saturday, July 6. Chairapy is a textured hair salon offering styling and education to clients with a variety of hair types and textures. Owner Asha Parson specializes in curly to kinky hair and welcomes all-natural styles to her salon. The salon is now booking appointments through their website, and Parson says she’s excited to be part of the downtown community.

“We like being central to a lot of our favorite shops and stores. As a small biz, we like to support other small businesses!” said Parson. “We’re enjoying getting settled in and meeting the other business owners of our favorite downtown locations.”

Mintha’s Boutique, 520 E. Third St., is holding its grand opening celebration next Friday, July 12. Owner Mintha Owens features a variety of fashion-forward styles in store, including women’s clothing, accessories, and shoes. Owens has been in the shoe business for more than 20 years and prides herself on staying on the cutting-edge of fashion. The public is invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the boutique at noon on Friday, July 12, with grand opening festivities to follow until 8 p.m. that evening. Mintha’s Boutique is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
