The 6888 Kitchen is marking its first year in Downtown Dayton with an open house and celebration next week. The kitchen incubator was founded by Dayton businesswomen Charlynda Scales, Dabriah Rice, and and Jamaica White and is dedicated to providing training, business support resources, and commercial kitchen space for under-resourced food entrepreneurs. In just one year of operation, the 6888 Kitchen has graduated 47 entrepreneurs from its “Sharpen the Axe” business program, supported more than 20 active member businesses, and generated more than $24,000 in catering revenue through its collective program. In total, member businesses earned a combined revenue of more than $300,000 last year.

The open house will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Dayton Arcade on Thursday, March 6. Kitchen tours, tastings from member businesses, a special community toast, and more will be part of the event. RSVP, donation link, and more information is available online.
