Demolition is underway on the former Wright State University Kettering Center to clear the way for “The Monument,” a new apartment complex in downtown Dayton. The Monument is the latest in a string of downtown projects for developers Crawford Hoying, and is slated to be a 124-unit apartment complex that will also feature first-floor retail space and a parking garage across from RiverScape MetroPark. Wright State had sold the vacant three-story Kettering Center building for $1 million in 2018. This new project is the latest of several residential developments downtown for Crawford Hoying. Previous projects have included The Delco Lofts and the Water Street and Centerfield Flats. For more information on downtown’s surging residential popluation, visit downtowndayton.org.
