Greater Dayton RTA Provides Free Rides to Vaccine Appointments, Clinics

Mike ColvinFast Facts

The Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (RTA) has rolled out a local vaccination transportation program to ensure that everyone, regardless of means, can have reliable and secure rides to get to a scheduled vaccination appointment. The RTA offers three options:

  • When boarding any bus, customers may present their appointment registration in print or on their mobile device, and/or their COVID-19 shot record to ride at no charge on the day of their vaccine appointment.
  • Customers who do not have access to a bus route on the day and time of their appointment may schedule their vaccine trip on RTA’s Connect service, by calling (937) 425-8300, option #6
  • A shuttle will be made available weekly from RTA’s downtown transit center to Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County vaccination clinic sites during dates and times identified by public health.

The state of Ohio has created a website to facilitate who is eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine and where to book your appointment. For more information, visit gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov.
