More information has been announced about the 8-4 Memorial. Late last week, the 8-4 Memorial Committee and the Contemporary Dayton hosted an official announcement to share the artist team selected to produce the memorial and design renderings for the project. Artists Terry Welker, Sierra Leone, Jes McMillan, & James Pate have been selected to create the memorial, which they have titled “The Seed of Life.”
“Our unique, collaborative, visionary process allows us to create a shared, memorable place of healing. Here, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts, and everyone has the opportunity to literally use their own hands to help make it happen,” said Terry Welker in a release.
The announcement was held at Trolley Stop Plaza, 530 E. Fifth St., which is the site for the future memorial. Information and renderings shared during the announcement are now available at 8-4memorial.com.
